Here are some of the best local SEO practices for restaurants:

 

1. Create, authenticate and update your Google My Business profile.

 

  • Update your profile regularly.
  • Provide accurate, up-to-date information.
  • Include your logo, opening hours, accepted payment methods, the product or service you sell, and plenty of images.
  • Respond sincerely to customer feedback.
  • Post messages (announcing products, events and special offers) on your business profile using the Google My Business dashboard.

 

2. Optimize your website for local SEO

  • Make sure your website is optimized for mobile devices (download speed, text size, etc.).

  • Create content based on local news or events.
  • Write blog posts on local news, activities or events.
  • Create videos about local charities or causes your company supports.
  • Create location-specific web pages with high-quality local content on your website if you serve different parts of a region.
  • Location pages are essential if your company has multiple locations in a region. These pages must contain at least the following information: Store opening hours, complete name, address and telephone number, customized descriptions, testimonials, promotions, parking availability, Google Maps attached to each location page, etc.

Backlinks are used in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to designate a hypertext link within a piece of content pointing to another website. For example, a local media article pointing to your website.

  • Create high-quality content on your site so that others will want to link to your content.
  • Invite bloggers on reputable sites with high domain authority (good popularity and an established reputation).
  • Talk to local influencers on social media or by email to get them to send you a link.
  • Submit your website to local directories.
  • Participate in local forums and discussion groups.
